A photographer of Armenian origin, Lena Weinstein was born in Yerevan, spent most of her life in Moscow, and is currently based in Tel Aviv. Her journey in photography began with questions of self-identity. She explores and documents her family's history using analog and digital media, preserving visual evidence to pass down to future generations. In 2021, Lena completed the Contemporary Photography and Visual Culture course at the Rodchenko Art School of Photography and Multimedia. Lena is deeply fascinated by postmemory: her work explores collective memory and trauma, as well as the impact of the Soviet Union on the following generations. She pays particular attention to migration issues and the loss of connection with one's identity.
